Instructions

1. Prepare the Almond Cake:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8-inch round cake pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together almond flour, all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.

  6. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.

2. Prepare the Almond Cream:

  1. In a medium bowl, whip the heavy cream with an electric mixer until soft peaks form.
  2. Gradually add the granulated sugar while continuing to beat until stiff peaks form.
  3. Gently fold in the finely chopped almond paste or marzipan, vanilla extract, and almond liqueur if using.
  4. Chill the almond cream in the refrigerator until ready to use.

3. Assemble the Dessert:

  1. Once the almond cake has completely cooled, spread a generous layer of almond cream over the top.
  2. Garnish with fresh berries and a dusting of powdered sugar if desired.
  3. Sprinkle sliced almonds on top for added texture and visual appeal.
